I literally stumbled upon this site called Railway Walks by a Michael Anderton. It seems he was comissioned by One Anglia back in 2001 to design some railway walks from Suffolk Stations.
What I particularly like is the very clear maps which would be great if you want to run a short course. The map for Bury shows a 3 mile circular route and also includes some interesting history on the development of the railway in Suffolk.
There are many other routes for Thurston, Elmswell, Newmarket and Ipswich to name a few.
Stumble Upon is worth a look if you haven't come across this StumbleUpon. It uses / ratings to form collaborative opinions on website quality. When you stumble, you will only see pages which friends and like–minded stumblers have liked.
Kaboodle is also worth a look if you want to make collections of web pages and wish lists. Have a look at a short list of items related to Bury St Edmunds by clicking on the picture of St Edmund in a box on the left called funnily enough Bury St Edmunds.
