Tonight I ran a circular town centre run which is about 5 miles plus. I don't have a GPS System so I don't really know. I guess the time approximately from the time I run and don't get to hung up on the distance. Of course I would love a GPS system as I love statistics but I could see myself getting really attached to it because of this reason. However time on your feet is the most important aspect as a beginner rather than the speed you run . However after a while the quality of the session also becomes important.

So included in my steady run I ran a few sprints. I included 4 faster 1 minute bursts with 2 minutes recovery in between. This helped to give a regular run a bit more variety and I hope to do more of this.

My right knee which was giving me some grief on Monday at the track returned to complain at the end of the session. I obviously have some form of injury. I notice it particularly when I am climbing stairs as I don't feel able to fully extend my leg and put weight on my right leg without some jarring pain.
