Hyde Wood and Fornham Circular Run Suffolk

Share
4.45pm 10.2 miles in 1 hr 25 mins 25 seconds

Week to date mileage 31 miles

Month to date mileage 37

Average weekly rate 30 miles

Average monthly rate 131

Year to date 815

Lifetime 10408

Before setting out on this run I measured the course using MapMyRun.com. I was looking to run a 10 mile course and this one is slightly more so was ideal.

It was quite warm and I missed the Wimbledon final which apparently was a classic match to do this run. Anyway I had more interest in the Tour De France which this year started in London and is one of the great events of the year.

Hyde Wood was slightly cooler to run around the perimeter with a little shade offer by the trees. My time of 8.20 miles seemed about right and I was tired but pleased with the effort and run.

    Buryblue,

Mapmyrun.com is a really cool site. I think I'll be using it to plot bike rides this summer.

I took some pictures of the Tour - Prologue. Those guys are truely amazing! see http://www.flickr.com/photos/81415756@N00/sets/72157600728105612/

  2. Good to hear from Mr Ruby!

I have to admire those guys and enjoyed reading Lance Armstrong Its not about my bike.

Mind you i did just read over the week about a former great British rider you may have heard of called Robert Millar. Apparently after a successful career as a cyclist and commentator he suddenly vanished for 5 years before emerging somewhere up North as Roberta or something similar after a sex change!

I am taking it Map My Run is accurate be interesting to compare against a GPS garmin device.

Crickey ! I remember Robert Millar - he used to ride for the 'Z' Pegeout Team I think. I know he's published a book recently, perhaps it was too long in the saddle ..

Not sure about the accuracy of Map My Run - I'm sure there might be a little difference if you compared with a bicycle mounted odometer or GPS, but it might be good enough to give you a rough idea.

I read Armstrongs book sometime ago and though it was very inspiring. I'm hoping Vino is going to to well in the tour, although any one of 15 could win. CSC looks really strong as a team.
