10th July -VE Day in Bury St Edmunds
Sunday was VE Day 60 years since the ending of the second world war. With the events in London last Thursday the occasion seemed to bring out even bigger crowds to pay their respect to those who gave their lives. A few pictures of the occasion.
It has been confirmed that HRH The Prince of Wales and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall will visit St Edmundsbury Cathedral on Friday 22nd July to attend the service to mark the completion of the Millennium Tower Project. There is now a new feature on Suffolk's skyline - a central lantern tower rising from the heart of the county's Cathedral . It has been called by the Project's Patron, HRH The Prince of Wales, 'A Spiritual Beacon for the new Millennium'. I have to say you can notice the cathedral from so many places as you approach Bury. More pictures wil follow.
