10th July Fornham Circular Run

Share

8am 7.5 miles in 59.48. A personal best time for this course. Year to date 575 miles, July mileage 40 miles.

Weather - summer returns a lovely sunny morning.

The course - head out of Bury on the Beetons Way past Tollgate and through the village of Fornham St Martin. Return to Bury through Fornham All Saints along the A11101 Mildenhall Road , back to Tollgate and return up Beetons Way hill and home.

Felt comfortable all the way round even though I stopped several times to take photos.

The church is St Martins at Fornham St Martin. In the foreground is a very large first world war memorial cross. Very prominent as you walk through this gateway into the church so the obvious intention was for locals not to forget the great sacrifice that this village like too many others made during this conflict.

Suffolk is full of churches , it is said that where ever you stand in the county you can see a church. this is a reflection of the great wealth of the county in part resulting from wool merchants. Which is why I include a picture of some sheep and young lambs near the Tollgate Pub.

Digitial Cameras for Running

This was the the first time I have taken a camera with me on a run. I recently bought from Play.com a digitial camera for just £17.99. It is a credit sized camera which is only 5mm in depth. The picture resolutions is up to 640x480 VGA and can store up to 209 images. It has a 10 seconds self timer- for taking group pictures and the built in rechargeable battery lasts up to one week.

Obviously the quality isn't great but for a runner not wanting to be laden down with a heavy camera it does a good job. I would be keen to hear from any other runners who take a camera with them what would you recommend?
